 Dr. Parker is chief, Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery, and director of Gastrointestinal Oncology, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, N.J.; clinical assistant professor of surgery at Drexel University School of Medicine and UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson; and secretary of medical staff at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, N.J. As a private practitioner with Atlantic Surgical Group, Dr. Parker is a member of the largest surgical group in Monmouth and Ocean County, New Jersey.
Dr. Parker received his medical degree from UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson and performed his residency and chief residency at State University of New York-Kings County in Brooklyn. Following his residency, Dr. Parker was awarded a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Saint Francis Medical Center, University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Hartford.
Dr. Parker is a fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and American College of Surgeons, and a diplomate of the National Board of Medicine. He is a preceptor for laparoscopic colon surgery and stapled hemorrhoidectomy at numerous medical centers national and international. He was listed in the Consumers Guide to Top Doctors 2003 Edition for colorectal and general surgery doctors most highly recommended by other doctors.
Current research interests include laparoscopic colectomy for colon carcinoma and PET/CT Scan detection of metastatic colon and rectal carcinoma.
